Civil monetary penalties inflation adjustment: Final rule, published Dec. 1, 2011, effective Jan. 3, 2012

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Department of Homeland Security, and the Executive Office for Immigration Review, Department of Justice, amend the Department of Homeland Security regulations to adjust for inflation certain civil monetary penalties assessed under the Immigration and Nationality Act. They are effective for violations occurring on or after the effective date.
