Jacobson & Han LLP is proud to announce the addition of Attorney Alex Galvez to our Immigration and Criminal Defense Departments. Mr. Galvez joined Jacobson & Han LLP in 2008 as a Law Clerk after graduating from Syracuse University College of Law. Since joining Jacobson and Han LLP, Mr. Galvez has successfully assisted and has been involved in hundreds of cases in all areas of immigration, including deportation and removal defense, adjustment of status, investor visas, Board of Immigration Appeals and more.
During law school, Mr. Galvez was a Law Clerk for the Honorable Robert J. Eggers, a United States District Court Judge for the 7th Judicial Circuit of Illinois. In addition, he was a Student Attorney for the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office serving the Identity Theft Department where he played an integral part in the department’s first successful trial. Mr. Galvez interned for the Public Defenders Office in Washington , D.C. and later represented indigenous clients as a student attorney for the Syracuse Criminal Law Clinic. He also served with distinction as a member of the Thurgood Marshall Trial and the Hispanic National Bar Association Moot Court teams.
Alex is an avid traveler, visiting over 55 countries across 5 continents, and has studied international law in Bangkok , Thailand . He served as President of the Latino American Law Student Association (LALSA) and was elected Student Body Senator during his third year of law school.
Prior to attending law school, Alex spent 3 years working for an international telecommunications company where he travelled the country and spearheaded the company’s international efforts in Europe .
Attorney Galvez earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Loyola Marymount University in 1998. In addition, he has also studied Comparative Law at Queen’s College, Oxford University .
Mr. Galvez is a member of the California State Bar, the Central District Court of California, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association. Mr. Galvez is bilingual and fluent in Spanish. During his free time, Alex likes to spend time fostering higher education and leadership within the Latino community.
